Feeling haunted? Let me draw your ghosts! Using a complex system of magical thinking, self-deception, and participant interaction, each session will result in your very own bespoke ghost portrait. Bonus: your ghostly data will be mined to divine an animated future based on our current collective haunting.
Disclaimer:
This performance is not based on any real scientific or magical evidence. Any truths revealed as a result of this piece are purely coincidental (or are they?) Furthermore, no personal participant data will actually be mined, this is not AI, it’s just satire.
Ambivalently Yours is a Picton-based, semi-anonymous, perpetually ambivalent, visual artist, animator and writer. Her work has been exhibited worldwide and shared virally on the Internet. Her artistic practice is a reaction to the collective despair fuelled by mainstream predictions of an aggressively digitized and isolating future. Using vivid imagery, collective magical thinking, humour and animation, her work is a call to confront fear by finding meaning in the absurd while moving forward with the most stubborn kind of hope.
